Validation Table Entries

There are certain standard entries that must be used when entering the GTIN information. Some of these include Package Type (Bag, Bin, Case, Carton), Size Unit of Measure (Pound, Each, Tray, Bag), Dimension Unit of Measure (Centimeter, Feet, Inches), Package Unit of Measure (Kilograms, Pounds).

Each unit of measure requires a standard abbreviation: BG for Bag, LB for Pounds, etc. The Validation Table contains a list of these units of measure and their abbreviations.

We have provided a validation table that contains the most common selections. You only need to use this view if you need a unit of measure or packaging type that we have not included.

You can find detailed information about the unit types and abbreviations that must be used at www.producetraceability.org.

Go to Case Labeling > Setup > Validation Table Entries.

Type of Entry

From the drop-down list, select the type of validation entry you want to add to or edit.

The current entries will be displayed in the grid. You can add a new item by moving to a blank line and entering the Code and Description.

If you want to delete entries you will not be using, you can do so by using the [Shift] – [F2] keys to delete the line that is currently highlighted. For example, if you are not using metric measurements, you may want to remove Centimeters and Kilograms from the selections.
